Frequently Asked
Questions

Which skin and hair types are Silky Planet devices suitable for?

Our devices are designed to work for most skin and hair types. The IPL device works best on lighter skin tones with darker hair growth. If you have very fair or very dark skin, we recommend doing a patch test first we walk you through it step by step in the instructions. Our EMS and LED devices are suitable for all skin types, as they work independently of pigmentation.

Do I need special accessories or gels to use the devices?

For most of our devices, you don't need any additional products. For the LumiFace EMS device, we recommend using a water-soluble conductive gel or aloe vera to improve conductivity and make the treatment more comfortable. The gel is not included. All other devices are ready to use straight out of the box.

Why should I invest in a Silky Planet device instead of going to a salon?

A single salon appointment for hair removal or a facelift treatment can easily set you back between £60 and £150, and you'll need several of them. With a Silky Planet device, you get the same treatment at home, on your own schedule, with no appointments and no travel. Most devices pay for themselves after just two or three sessions you would otherwise have paid for at a clinic.

How quickly will I see results?

It depends on the device and your starting point. With IPL hair removal, most customers notice a significant reduction in hair growth after three to four sessions. With the EMS device, visible improvements in skin texture often appear after just one to two weeks of regular use. For lasting results, we recommend following the treatment plan included with your device.

Are the devices clinically tested and safe?

Yes. All Silky Planet devices go through certification processes and have been reviewed by dermatologists. Our IPL technology is clinically tested for efficacy. You can try any product for 30 days and return it if it's not right for you, no questions asked.

What happens if I'm not happy with my device?

We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee. If you're not convinced within that time, simply send it back. Our customer service team is available Monday to Saturday, 9am to 8pm, and is happy to help with any questions about using your device or the returns process.

What's the difference between the CelluFree and CelluX anti-cellulite devices?

The CelluFree is a mechanical lymphatic drainage massager that uses three interchangeable pads to stimulate circulation, warm the tissue, and encourage collagen production in the treated area. The CelluX uses ultrasonic cavitation technology for deeper tissue penetration. It targets stubborn fat-cell clusters below the skin's surface and also features a warming infrared function. For visible contouring results, the CelluX is our more advanced option. The CelluFree is excellent for regular circulation-boosting maintenance.

How long does it take to see results with the cellulite devices?

Most users notice improved skin texture and reduced heaviness in the legs after 2 to 3 weeks of consistent use (3 to 4 sessions per week). A visible reduction in the appearance of cellulite typically develops over 6 to 8 weeks. Results improve further with continued use and are best supported by adequate hydration and an active lifestyle.

Are these devices suitable for use during pregnancy?

We recommend avoiding all electrical body devices during pregnancy, including cellulite massagers and suction tools. If you are pregnant or have a medical skin condition, consult your GP before use.

Can cellulite devices be used on the face or neck?

The CelluX's ultrasonic function can be used on the jawline, neck, and décolleté for firming and circulation support. The CelluFree is intended for body use only, covering thighs, abdomen, arms, and buttocks. Always follow the usage guide included with your device.

What is the difference between the CloudAir and the AirFlow?

Both use air-styling technology to curl, wave, and volumise without conventional barrel heat. The CloudAir is a 5-in-1 device ideal for everyday styling, delivering up to 53% more volume across five attachments. The AirFlow is our premium 7-in-1 set, powered by a high-speed motor with six times stronger airflow than a standard hairdryer. It also uses the Coanda effect to create effortless, natural-looking curls and includes a diffuser and straightening brush for a complete salon system.

Is air-styling better for hair health than traditional heated tools?

Air-styling tools work at lower direct temperatures than conventional curling irons or flat irons, which means less concentrated heat applied to the hair shaft. This reduces the risk of dryness and breakage over time, particularly for fine, colour-treated, or previously heat-damaged hair.

How does the Coanda effect work in the AirFlow?

The Coanda effect causes a jet of airflow to follow a curved surface. In hair styling, this means strands are drawn around the barrel through suction rather than being manually wound. The result is smooth, defined curls with consistent shape and no awkward grip marks.

Can these tools be used on all hair lengths and types?

Yes. Both the CloudAir and AirFlow are designed for use across all hair types, from fine and straight to thick, wavy, or curly. We recommend adjusting the heat and airflow settings to suit your hair: lower settings for fine or bleached hair, higher for thick or coarse hair. The AirFusion Hair Dryer also features ionic technology to reduce frizz and static on all hair types.

What does the Arctic Air Straightener do differently from a standard flat iron?

The Arctic Air is a 2-in-1 device that straightens and styles in one pass. Its design suits both smoothing and creating sleek waves, without the need to switch tools mid-routine.

Do I still need heat protectant with air-styling tools?

Yes. We always recommend applying a heat protectant before any heated or air-styling session. Even though air-styling tools operate more gently than traditional irons, consistent use without protection can cause cumulative dryness over time, especially on colour-treated hair.

Are the devices dual-voltage for travel?

Yes. The CloudAir, AirFlow, and AirFusion all support dual voltage (100 to 240V), making them suitable for use in the UK and internationally. Check the voltage specification on your device's label before use abroad.

What is the DuoCare Mini Trimmer designed for in a styling context?

The DuoCare is a compact trimmer for precise hair removal and detailing rather than head-hair styling. It is ideal for facial hair, edge tidying, underarms, and bikini line. It is fully waterproof, USB rechargeable, and uses a hypoallergenic blade suitable for sensitive skin.
